Topic: Da Vinci jr printing TPU

Would it be possible for the da Vinci jr to print tpu and other flexible materials?

Re: Da Vinci jr printing TPU

@destroyer - FlexTPU = no chance. Haven't attempted any others but I highly doubt it will. Bowden setup is no good for flexibles to start with, extruder has all gears exposed so filament kinks in there instantly and last thing is the hotend head itself - if you open it up you'll see that there are open gapps in filament path between pushfit connector, filament sensor and then hottend entrance hole.

@kr15_uk ok thats what I was thinking.  Would it be possible to install a direct drive extruder?

@destroyer - yes and no. You can do direct drive if you design your own bracket for the hotend and the stepper, but not Titan. Jr uses non geared system with MK7 hobbed gear so your design  should be based on the same design hence you can't ammend your firmware. Using different design you'll end up with overextrusion or underextrusion. Alternatively you could adjust your flow rate in your slicer to compensate that but that can't be done in XYZWare - you need to use Cura or any other slicer.

ok thank you  could you recommend any other direct drive extruder assembly?
