Topic: 3D Vertex Painting in MeshMixer
For the past couple of weeks I've been using my EinScan-S Scanner to scan a few things, and unlike the Atlas 3D scanner which I also use previously, this unit is primarily intended to produce a mesh, color scanning is an afterthought that doesn't work very well.
So I did try digitally painting a model before, but never seriously tried it. Last night I started doing some 3D vertex painting using MeshMixer. Painting in MeshMixer is very similar to painting a real model, except it's digital and in 3 dimensions. The feature is not documented very well, and it took me a while just to figure out how to pick colors (not from the color picker but from the screen).
The model below of the Hulkbuster is not done yet, but here is what can be achieved in a couple of hours of work
SD3 printer w/too many mods, Printrbot Simple Maker Ed., FormLabs Form 1+
AnyCubic Photon, Shining 3D EinScan-S & Atlas 3D scanners...
...and too much time on my hands.
