Topic: NEED: Solidoodle Motherboard Rev E Firmware "Solidoodle_6142013.zip"

Please.

If anyone has a copy of this zipped firmware can you please upload it here?

Solidoodle's website is gone now since they've stopped business.

I would be forever grateful.

Thank you.

EDIT:

So my objective is to finally attach the LCD controller to make the printer standalone since to original computer running it is no longer powerful enough to run the newer slicers and other software. Unable to connect the printer to our everyday computers as they are in a different room.

Decided it's better to just tell Solidoodle to piss off, and to grab a new controller board like an arduino mega + ramps for $20, or a Rumba or MKS mainboard. So much less hassle than dealing with Solidoodle's proprietary crap.

Just writing down step/mm data to input to eeprom on the new board.

Solidoodle 3 that came with new extruder setup with extra fan that hits left side of machine reducing print area even more than originally falsely advertised.

Crappy new driver board that has soldered on driver chips and atmega so if anything fries the whole thing gets trashed instead replacing $5 driver chips or $3 atmega.

Hear is the one i use.
It's good for my Rumba and old Printboard.

Re: NEED: Solidoodle Motherboard Rev E Firmware "Solidoodle_6142013.zip"

I have a solidoodle 3 with the Motherboard rev E (Printrboard?) and I'm trying to update the firmware for changes I've made.  I added a Titan extruder and E3D Lite 6 hot-end.  Specifically, I need to change the maximum temperature limits that can be used (and tweak steps/mm for the extruder).   Right now I'm stuck with the old 210C limit on the extruder.

I've seen a lot of conflicting info on how to do the update and a lot of dead links to DL the firmware.  Is the firmware in the last post suitable for this board?  Which version of the Arduino IDE do I need to program the board?

Use 022 but you need Teensyduino, the WIKI is in need of updating for sure.

The firmware listed on the soliwiki is still the best match for your machine.

Re: NEED: Solidoodle Motherboard Rev E Firmware "Solidoodle_6142013.zip"

Thanks.  I'll struggle along.  Jeez, I thought Arduino/RAMPS was a PITA!  This printr board junk makes them look positively advanced.  Why on earth would anyone have put a board that makes updating firmware so complicated into a commercial product?  It's no wonder Solidoodle went under.

I've been trying to get this printer working for a while.  The temperature limitations on the original hot-end were just stupid- you can't print ABS worth a damn at 210C.  Whose idea was it to use a hot-end that self-destructs ay ABS print temperature?  The bed doesn't get hot enough and the there's an error in the thermistor type or table so the bed is always 15-20C lower than the set value.  If you set it to 110C (the limit from the firmware) it gets to 95C which almost works for ABS.  It didn't print PLA very reliably because the hot-end had no active cooling.  PLA kept jamming the extruder and taking it apart and reassembling all those bits of acrylic was a nightmare.  The machine's frame was rock solid, but the Z axis wobbles.

I added side and top covers and an heater to warm the enclosure so I can print ABS.  The new extruder and hot-end are the final steps to turn it into a semi decent printer.

I'll have a go at compiling the firmware and if it turns into the nightmare I expect (either compiling or squirting it into the board) I'll just replace the board with something less of a PITA.  I never thought I'd say it, but even Arduino/RAMPs would be an improvement.

I was able to flash the firmware.  Thanks!
