Topic: What is the future of this forum?

I ask, not to be mischievous but to gain a better understanding of the financial and/or requirements of this resource. As a Solidoodle 4 customer I'd hate to see it deprecated.

There is a solid (no pun intended) foundation of community driven support here that is valuable to those who reference and use it.

Please PM me - depending on the requirements I may be able to assist.

-Frank

Re: What is the future of this forum?

User support will continue.
User upgrade/mods will continue.
Soliforum has zero affiliation with Solidoodle.

SF is the home (if sometimes unofficial) for Filastruder/Filawinder, the ATLAS scanner, CTC users, Kossel users, XYZ, and several other printers and projects and discussion. With SD (RIP) gone, I am more confident as more user than I am a veteran than we will continue meeting here.

Printit Mason and Printit Horizon printers
Multiple SD2s- Bulldog XL, E3D v5/v6/Lite6, Volcano, Hobb Goblin, Titan, .9 motor, Lawsy carriages, direct Y drive, fishing line...the list goes on
Filawinder and Filastruder #1870.....worth every penny!

Thanks - appreciate the clarification.

Re: What is the future of this forum?

Brad already done a message on this a week or so ago. this group was never part of the company Solidoodle nor did Sam (CEO of Solidoodle) even post on here. the forum just started as A needed life raft for all of their adrift consumers hehe and we have turned the Raft into the ship and watched the original ship sink sort-of. now there is a topic discussing up-cycling the Solidoodle company assets into this life raft to extend its continued growth. ironic as life in the wild will eat their young in hard times to survive but this is like the Young eating their parents to strengthen themselves. I think some insects do that lol

This is an independant hobby community. Many of us here have solidoodle printers.
I entered this hobby about 2 years ago by purchasing a used SD4 . I will say I was fortunate to have a great e-bay seller to deal with a supportive wife a little help from the SD company in the form of fast shipment of a power supply.
But I will have to say most of the technical and emotional support for learning came from this community

And again when I decided to dive into a kit built of a prusa I3 the folks here chimed in. .
IMHO this is a Solid community dedicated to help people learn how to use and mod low  to medium end consumer grade printers. And the few folkd that can afford the higher end printers get help her as well.
