Topic: Hour/Hobbs Meter ?

This may be a silly question  but curious.
How do folks here log printer time. I have often seen folks state I have x number of hours on this or that printer or over x  number of hours on a sheet of Kapton tape.
Is there a timer in the software somewhere ? do folks keep a log on paper or in their computer ?
is it a pure estimate or do folk actualy have hour meters installed on the  printer ?
I have a meter here I will probably hook up. Easy enough to do and there are meters on e-bay for $3- $5 . A name brand meter is about  $ 35.
Curious how folks keep track of printer time.

Most printers that have an LCD have a usage meter in the menu. If you dont have an LCD then you just have to keep a log. There may be a gcode commsmd that can access the usage register on your comtroller as well.

Printing since 2009 and still love it!
