Topic: Workbench Apprentice power usage

I installed a new power monitoring plugin for OctoPrint and I'm looking to get some rough power consumption figures for the following (in watts):

  • PCB heatbed

  • Hotend

  • Stepper motors

  • Cooling fans and electronics

Thanks in advance.

Re: Workbench Apprentice power usage

PCB heatbed: 50-200 watts, depending on size and temperature
Hotend: ~20 watts
Steppers: ~5 watts each
Cooling fans and electronics: ~5 watts total

A 3D printer costs about 3 cents an hour in electricity. Negligible, really - especially in the winter when 100% of that energy is being converted to heat, which is less you have to heat your house.

Thanks. Any idea of the wattage for the bed assuming 6"x6" consistently run at 110C?

Closer to the lower end, probably around 80 watts depending on insulation of the underside of the bed, etc.
