Topic: No filament

Loved the DaVinci since I got it at Christmas and yesterday I started having problems. It simply will not print anymore. The file loads correctly and XYZ dimensions matches the stl I created. The machine runs but nothing comes out. I calibrated and leveled the bed and cleaned the tip and unloaded and loaded filament.

It seems to be running the program at the right points, there's just nothing being extruded.

Re: No filament

A common issue is having the bed set too high preventing filament coming out when the nozzle moves over the bed.
Assuming it extrudes ok when running the load filament option, try lowering the bed slightly by turning the thumb screws a quarter turn to the right.

Thank you , I will try lowering and re-calibrating--

As it runs through the item, after the first couple of layers the head will be clearly above the bed. If it starts out too high, will this cause it not extrude for the remainder of the project? It seems to go through all the motions to complete each project, it just doesn't lay down filament.

Re: No filament

No, don't recalibrate. Just lower the bed and try printing.
If it's still doesn't extrude, try lowering a bit more till it does.
The auto calibration is what causes a lot of trouble for people.
It doesn't work properly and isn't fit for purpose. Follow the levelling guide in the sticky section using the paper method from now on.

Will try that, thank you.

Re: No filament

Also, does it extrude when you load the filament?
