Topic: cylindrical lithograph what would be the best settings

I am trying to print a cylindrical lithograph using this online program
http://maker.dongguk.edu/webclient/cyli … index.html

I have a Makerbot replicator 2x
the nozzle diameter is .4mm
and i am using natural ABS

Here are my settings

printer settings
.1 mm layer thickness
2 shells
10 % infill

Can I make the walls thinner and print with 1 shell so the pictures show up better
or would it collapse.
I am going to use this as a tealight shade.

trying it now at 1 shell

I think it should print well with 1 shell. The only issue might be the natural filament color, might make it hard to see the details. Post a pic when it's finished!

the pictures on the 1 shell .1 mm layer did not come out good
this is 2 shells .2 mmhttp://soliforum.com/i/?EGpRFBu.jpg

Re: cylindrical lithograph what would be the best settings

do you think the pictures would come out better if i used white filament  instead of natural.

I am playing around trying to get the best settings because I have about 5 months until a friend of mine gets married and she wants them as center pieces. I don't want to wait til the last minute to start.

Actually I think that looks pretty good. Couldn't hurt to try the white out also.

I agree. Most of those types prints I have done have not turned out very well. Yours looks better than average. As counter-intuitive as this sounds, a higher infill might help give you better detail with some decrease in light.

I was thinking maybe another perimeter to add depth might help, but don't use any infill on the walls because it will obscure the picture.

I keep coming back to this picture and thinking, "Damn that looks good." I have a feeling your friend will love them!
