Topic: Downgrading Firmware Help!

Hello All,

I'm glad to have found this forum. There seems to be a lot of knowledgable people on here for the XYZ Davinci printers. So, I have an older model Davinci 1.0 and I recently got a XYZerocart from WCTEK. I followed all of there instructions for flashing and so forth. I had downloaded an older version of XYZWare than I had and also downloaded Arduino IDE, bossac, and the 1.1.J firmware to replace the 1.2.7 on the printer. I was able to toggle the lcd lights on and off using the arduino ide on what was named COM3. I have the bossac program and firmware installed on my desktop. After flashing in the device manager it is supposed to say Bossac Serial Port or something like that on some port.  Well it does not say that anywhere in my device manager so I went ahead and tried the command to run the bossac program on COM3 which is the port that the printer responded to while testing the lcd light. Now in the command box it says "device not found on port" sooo I am wondering if anyone has any suggestions because now I just have a printer with two black bars..

Thanks

Re: Downgrading Firmware Help!

I am 99% sure but XYZ made it so that once you went to firmware 1.2.7 it is impossible to revert. Some one else can confirm this but I believe this was the last discussion on the topic.  Your only choice now would be to go to Repetier firmware and Repetier Host.

But wait for someone else to confirm this as I have not been in many Da Vinci discussions as I used to since I got rid of mine.

Re: Downgrading Firmware Help!

If it were me, I'd just switch to repetier anyway and be done with the XYZcrapware.
You wouldn't need your ressetter anymore for starters.
