Topic: One vs Two lasers
Are both lasers used by the software to create one model?
Is the quality better than a single laser setup?
Thanks.

ATLAS 3D can use one or two lasers for a scan. Two lasers does not increase the quality/precision but does reduce the number of "gaps" in the model due to concave areas on the part.
So why have two lasers then with Atlas 3D. I only found it impossible to allign properly without getting weird overlaps in the scans
Once calibrated, you can scan more of the model with two lasers than with one.
When you scan an irregularly shaped object, you'll find that there are areas that one laser can't see, that the other laser does.
So scanning with both lasers is the desirable way. However, it does require proper calibration.
The auto-calibration feature in FreeLSS, does a really good job of aligning the 2 scans, but it does require prior physical alignment to be reasonably close, you can't expect the calibration to work if your physical alignment is really off.
Got way better results using the alternate allignment method described elsewhere in the forum (can't recall the post that quickly).
Now struggeling with lightning and getting consistent results
