Topic: Thicker top layer???

Hey everybody, I was wondering whether or not it is possible to have repetier code in a thicker top few layers to my projects?  It seems that when I run even a light graduated curve, the printer doesn't take time to cover in those areas.  Looks kinda rough. Any suggestions???  Thanks in advance!  Kevin

FYI, I already tried editing the gcode.  Seems it doesn't take even though I save it.  Not sure why.  If it would save and work, it's easy to add more top layers and up the fill lines in gcode.  Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?  (I'm def a newbie at the solidoodle, but I have to say, I'm learning a lot, and enjoying the fun along the way.

It's in your Skeinforge/slic3r settings - perimeters.

thanks elmoret.  Found them.  I guess I didn't save the first set cause that's where I was at.  Changed settings and nothing changed in the print.  However, as I am absent minded, it's entirely possible that I just didn't save my new settings.  I'm trying another print now.  Thanks again!!!!

Re: Thicker top layer???

Try using kisslicer. I find it writes much better Gcode for situations like this. Search for Ian Johnson's kisslicer settings (to set up the Solidoodle). Kisslicer let's you set a skin thickness that makes sure there is solid plastic at the set distance from all surfaces, and it will only fill solid where it needs to for that skin. I have found that skein forge will fill entire layers even if only some of that layer needs to be filled to get a consistent wall thickness.
