Topic: Atlas 3D having trouble connecting

Wow - I'm feeling like I'm way in over my head with this scanner - I built it and finally got it on the network (wired - I couldn't make the Wi-Fi see my network so I just plugged it in) and I was able to get the ip address from the scanner (192.168.1.229).  But when I type the ip address into my browser on my laptop, it just says "waiting for 192.168.1.229."

I had it connect once (for some reason - I don't know why it did then and not other times) and got the scanning interface but when I tried to control anything from the laptop scan interface, it just sat there and "waited for" the ip address again.  Now I'm back to not even seeing the scanning interface.  I even tried typing the address in on my iphone also, but it just said "webpage is not available."

I have no idea what this freelss is, but I read here on the forums to download a new C++ library (?) for controlling the camera.  I downloaded it and I don't understand the readme at all - I have no idea what to do with it - there's no executable file in it. It says something about compilation, but I don't really know what that means.

Is there a non-computer programmer set of directions somewhere, or could someone help me figure out why it just hangs when I try to connect/control the scanner?

Thanks!
Samantha

Re: Atlas 3D having trouble connecting

Hi Samantha,

First, reboot the scanner and then make sure that you are running the latest version of the software.  You can do this by first entering your Serial Number on the Setup page.  You can get there by clicking SETTINGS and then Setup.  The Serial Number is located on the bottom of the motor.  Once the Serial Number is saved, click Check for Updates to update the software to the latest version.  Let me know if that doesn't resolve your connection issues.

Re: Atlas 3D having trouble connecting

Ok, I got it to connect by rebooting the scanner and I updated to the latest version of the software.
When I click on the camera button, I don't see any image on the right side of the screen and I get the "waiting for" again.  I can't control the scanner in any way by pressing the buttons on the left side of the screen.  The red light on the scanner near the camera is on.

Re: Atlas 3D having trouble connecting

I've seen this happen when the "Sunny" connector on the front of the camera has come loose.  Power down the scanner and press it in firmly.
