Topic: The nurse will see you now...
Here is Nurse Alice (no relation to Nurse Alice Benjamin).
I've had this 3DS Max file for a while now, and until now I could never get a printable STL that didn't coer a lot of detail. Being this is a Max file, it's mostly made up of open surfaces. The skirt, shirt, stockings, shoes, everything is layered on top of a nude model, and when Netfabb tried to fix it, it either filled in a lot of the existing detail, or it dropped most of the clothing.
So I ended up loading the model back into 3DS Max, and creating shells (extrusions) of every element that was a single open surface. The first iteration didn't work well because the thickness of the extrusion was smaller than the minimum path of the printer (<0.40mm), so I had to thicken it up further.
This time it worked. As you can see from the photos below, she was printed sitting down, and there's a ton of support underneath and on the sides. Removing it proved to be a major pain, but I got most of it off. She still need clean up of the support, especially on the back of her legs and butt.
In all I'm quite pleased on how she came out. The skirt pleats are made of 4 distinct layers, and the shirt is actually separate from the body. There's also a very tiny gap between the legs ad the stockings. Once she's completely clean, I'll post additional pictures.
