and yet the mk5, an extruder made out of simply plastic and bolts, will last one years.

To be fair what they call an extruder is what we call a hotend... but your point stands with an E3Dv6.

when they found out the smart extruder was not so smart (kept clogging ) and everyone that had bought a Makerbot 5th generation
printer were complaining about them on the Makerbot Forum Makerbot shut the forum down.
Leaving people with older printers and no warranty in the dark.

My work place got a Makerbot last year and was going through an extruder every 3 months.

Printing since 2009 and still love it!
Anycubic 4MAX best $225 ever invested.
Voxelabs Proxima SLA. 6 inch 2k Mono LCD.
Anycubic Predator, massive Delta machine. 450 x 370 print envelope.
