ok with mifare, deleting the empty space at the end of the line and unlocking emutag i can write the tag and the printer read 300 m... now i must buy the standart filament

next question.

i unlock emutag, read the txt file, then i lock, but if i read the code change...

if i unlock emutag, read the txt file, i need lock? or put on 3dprinter unlocker... if lock and turn of the power off 3d printer and power off emutag usually the code is reset...

for that i think unlock for whrite the txt file, put on printer unlocker and printing... but i waitting for buy the filament to test combinations.


I'll tell you how you see when you have the filament and test ...

Keep the EMUtag locked when its the printer.
What data is different.   I suspect just the password and pack code words.

Have you tried changing the batteries in the EMU? Low batteries will cause all kinds of issues.

The EMUtag tricks you because the field from the phone/ programmer seems to generate enough power to make it APPEAR to work.  Take away the phone/ programmer and haha, it got ya.

well... this mornig i write emutag, I put it in the printer, the printer recognizes it, I turn off the emutag to see if it is when I turn it off the memory or something ... and when I put it back neither the printer recognizes it nor can read or write it with the phone, it is as if it did not get electricity to the emutag, I remove it from the usb current and I put batteries and it does not recognize anything either ... it has been able to break?

i tested the usb power and the polimeter mark 5v and 5v on switch of lock/unlock...

What exactly did you turn off?  If you remove power to the EMUtag, it will reset to a non usable contents.  It will have to be reprogramed.

If you have no batteries in it,  you cannot turn it off. Unlike a real RFID device if the EMUtag looses power it looses the data it is programmed with. It must always be powered by batteries or external power.

ooook, After a week of testing, I have reflashed it ... it gave me problems EVERYTHING, from the avrdude that was not installed, then I lacked an avrdude file, then I flashed it but I did not upload the file ... buy the 10uf and it did not work and today I do not know if it was for changing the capacitor to another port GNR and RESET of the arduino nano or to use the CMD as administrator that has been flashed me correctly ... T_T thankfully I had the materials on hand to do so. .. but it was well broken ...

I have a DaVinci Jr Wifi that I would like to use different filament on. I presume the emutag works here, and its just the resetting of cards that does not work? Are there any European source for the Emutag (or similar)?

How far are we from being able to make our own tags from blank tags for the jr (w)? The page linked to seems to be a service-request page, not a place where one can contribute.

Also, as a sidenote, since my printer is wifi, its always on, so it seems I would need to do the 5V hack on the emutag.. the hack seems... extensive, compared to the task. Maybe i should just invest in a wifi on/off for the PSU :-)

Resetting the tags is all controled by the firmware version you have. For the JR 1.0 you need to have Firmware Version 2.2.6 or below in order to use reset tags. Now if you are willing to do a little butchering of you printer. There are a couple of folks that have remove the epromm that stores the tag info. You can find them in another page.

By the way, if you have a cell phone that is NFC capable you can always reset your tag that way also. All you need is the password for the tag.

Yearh. but my point is, i have the latest firmware version on my wifi junior. So im out of luck with anything but either EMUtag, or hoping someone soon finds a way to make tags from blanks.

If I can get back reset-ability by just removing the Eeprom, that by far seems like the cheapest and easiest solution. (and yes; I would need the password for each tag).

However, I still do not know if this eprom-removal will re-enable reset-ability for jr(w) ?

Well, from what they wrote. By removing the epromm from the board the printer works fine and does not store any information about the chips on it. The leader of this project has gone silent, but to his defense he had a really good reason to. Yearh I read sad It makes me sad and my condolences goes his way :-( we went thought the same thing last year - its never ever easy.

I have a botched jr, I can try to rip out its eeprom at some point, or just latch into it later on (when my clip gets here). Will take about ~40 days before chinamails gets delivered in the EU.. *sigh*.

LOL, that's what I am waiting for. I have receieved my epromm burner, epromms and boards to mount them on. I have successfully burned the dump they posted along with JR FW 2.2.0 on one of the chips. I really need that clip to be able to do any testing though.

I can confirm that even with the latest firmware you can reset your tags if you remove the eeprom in a mini w.

Although, you can not upgrade the firmware without the eeprom since XYZware stores the firmware in the eeprom before it sends a "update" command to the printer, but after the update you can remove the eeprom.

I have been having some problems with one of my printers lately though, for some reason I get alot of stringing on one printer but not the other (using the same .3w file).
I have been running both printers without the eeprom.

When I switched print-heads the problem followed the print-head to the other printer.

I am now printing again but with a eeprom connected just to see if it stores something in the eeprom that could have made the stringing, like calibrations or something.. I´ll see tomorrow morning if the strining is gone or not, otherwise it´s just a bad print-head.
