Re: Post your best/fav print - no Yodas allowed!

These prints will go on my daughter's wedding cake. Printed at .1mm resolution in white filament. I have a friend that will paint the detail after they are cleaned. I scanned them with a Kinect scanner, ran through netfabb studio and meshmixer to clean up the models, then printed. It took about 6 hours to print each figure. The taller of the two is about 3" tall.

Messing around with different ways of finishing. Not really into the acetone vapor stuff at the moment so I used sanding primer and sanded it to 2000 grit between finish coats. Printed with a .2mm resolution and it was not the best print to start with as there was a missed step about 3/8" from the bottom.

Re: Post your best/fav print - no Yodas allowed!

wow its hard to tell its printed with a solidoodle smile

i really like your finish
i have tried the same thing but it did not work that well yet probably because i used to harsh sanding paper:)

My daughter's bachlorette party was this weekend. I was asked to help with the cake decorations. I printed the wine bottles (Pink is one of her wedding colors, Lamp shade (Green is her other color), and Toilet from http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:7555 scaled at 200%. the cake turned out good and she really enjoyed it.

Awesome!  Been wanting to do this.  I made a foam helmet that turned out pretty good, but since I got my printer I've been wanting to print one.  I'm hung up on how to slice it up so that it will print, though.

If you could share your .stl's or even just post pictures of the individual parts, that would be greatly appreciated.

some of you might know this character its corporal heart from the timesplitters games

it consists of 6 parts glued together and she stands about 20 cm tall
i have not glued on the arms and weapon because im going to paint them first and thats easier to do when they are disconnected

Re: Post your best/fav print - no Yodas allowed!

Any chance of an imgur mirror? Dropbox link isn't working for some reason.

Works great, looks great. For some reason dropbox links were a mess the other day. Have you cut all the raft away to see how well it stands on it's own?

Very thin perfume bottle design mockup, on its way to my client.... :° )

Made in crystal clear PLA.... and light blue PLA... Great! top at 0.2, and bottle at 0.25... with first layers support only in Slic3r.

Bed 65 to 60° and Extruder at 195 to 190°

My daughter's wedding was this past weekend. I printed the top of their wedding cake as posted earlier. Here are some pictures of the finished products.

Smoothed, painted and ready to go.

The project turned out great. I printed at .1mm resolution and the artist smoothed with a dremel, primed, and painted with acrylics.

Very nice! What layer height is this?

Sorry, didn't see this! It's .05mm.  Funny thing is I can't get .2mm to work but .05mm usually comes out so well.
