Topic: Compact Filament Spool Holder

I switched filament supplies from faberdashery (supplies without spools) to colorfabb recently. I finally decided that spools don't work without some method of rotation yet didnt have much space behind the printer to fit on a single IKEA shelf.

A few hours of designing later, the result is a somewhat compact spool holder. This has probably been done before yet I really wanted to try and create my own solution.

Re: Compact Filament Spool Holder

Nice work.  I recently move but spool holder to inside my enclosure.  This way it feeds more directly.  It's just sitting on top of the printer for now and it is plenty heavy enough to just stay there, but I might eventually fasten it to the printer frame.  You can't really see the lid that closes and the front door is off on this print too since its woodfill PLA.

I do like your solution, I presume that's a custom wooden enclosure top there! You could also hand more than one filament roll up there for quick changes looking good smile
