Thanks for the info.  Do you care to share the details on the special paint?  I know they said I should apply a rubber coating ... is that what you are referring to?

I already have a Duo ... I bought this mostly for scanning.

Some surfaces are difficult to scan. These include translucent materials (glass), shiny, or dark objects. If the part can be painted, use a matte white spray paint to cover the object. Paint only in very light coats. Spraying too much will cause dripping and it will show up in the scans. For non-permanent coverage, use tinactin powder spray or a foot powder spray to provide a light coat that will generally not damage the object.

I got the Da Vinci AIO and is having various issues:

1. It reboots/resets to the MAIN MENU sometimes - e.g. when I tried to do calibration and print something.  Normally, it works again if I turn it off and on again.

2. Scanning problem - I can never get a good scan of anything - even a simple white object.

Can anyone share their experience with this printer?  is it worth to keep or should I just return it?

it has already been stated on many reviews that the abject needs to be painted with a type of paint made for scanning to work well. Also any object or parts of an object that are under 2 inches will not scan. It was a good idea but not implemented well. As for the resets, have not heard anything on that one yet. I would take it back and just get a Duo or 1.0A. Wait for the scanning tech to mature more. Or look up how to build a cheap but better scanner using the Xbox Kinect.
