This is not only really bad for the hardware in your machine but it's also a serious fire hazard! Increased resistance means increased heat!! You should replace your power supply immediately before it causes a fire or shocks the hell out of you.

Mine makes a very faint sound intermittently while printing, like a tiny cricket inside. It sounds like a bad sound for a power supply to be making.
