Thanks,
Thats a great reply. I am just looking for some comments to sway me one way or the other.
Yes, $800 seems a little pricy to get ones mind around for a printer that has its issues but 500 is not much more than I paid for an Epson photo printer. Reading these notes about head clogging issues reminds me of the ink jet printers that i have a ton of experience with. When the Epson was working it was great but when a head clog happened it was a pain.
Autodesk makes some good apps for the iPad.

John Gerard

carl_m1968 wrote:

sleepvideo wrote:

Thanks for the reply. My question is not really about Apple but more about if I should get this Printer at all.

John

I would not waste my money on AIO. The scanner is bad, and cannot scan anything less than two inches very well and that includes parts on your item that may be less than two inches. Buy the 1.0A or Duo. But note that 3DPrinting is a hobby and requires tinkering and down the road even possible mods to your printer. It is not a plug and play type of thing like a regular printer. It will require you to go out and search for information on print issues that you WILL have such as the topic of this thread. It require adjustments to both hardware and software. As for XYZ in general? You get what you pay for. For the price it is a good printer but it may need work when it arrives and it may need work down the road. It is the nature of the beast when you have all these moving parts. Is there better? Sure if you want to spend a GRAND or more but then even those will still have issues and the learning curve to solving problems and quality issue. When it comes down to it, for the price you are not out much and you can learn a lot more about the ins and outs and actual hardware with these then you would with a much higher priced model.

Sorry urbantigerau, it seems your thread got hijacked and I apologize. Just wanted to answer the stray posters concerns.

What's your take on this issue? Is it still worth getting? I have installed third party firmware on my Canon 60D camera so I am fine with that part if printing is going to be more reliable. Your topic is not really in regards to delamination either so you may want to contact an admin about moving your post. to it's own topic.

If so then you are out of luck. You need a cartridge resetter that will allow you to change the temps in the cartridge or you will need Simplify3D at $150 or install Repetier Firmware and Host. The issue is you need to be printing at around 220 to 230 with a bed temp of 110.
