my metal molder factory. also have spares not pictured. all of them can run at same time on same plug due to only 2 watt heaters in units, total amps during use of 14 molders was max 3 Amps at 115 volts. this toy and the non toxic low temp (174f) metal alloy refills was discontinued in 1995 due not to hazards but the metal has mostly Indium which is only mined in 1 place world wide yet all flat screen plasma/LCD TVs/monitors use it meaning demand overwhelmed supply driving cost up much higher than Silver which is a precious metal opposed to non precious alloy. but I have amassed a large supply through old toy sales, yard sales etc. even if I had to buy from supplier at current rate, items I sell will still make a profit.

it just looks like a thick needle with about a 60 degrees coned tip I sharpened into it while spinning it in Dremel chuck on a wet stone.

LOL I need to go to my work room in Basement with camera and take tons of pics for this thread. looks like. yeah I been making my own tools when none are available for decades. guess I thought everybody did. I found like 35 years ago when using a 30,000RPM Dremel moto tool that standard cutting/drilling accessories just dont work at such speeds, some even explode violently at the slightest bind and fly laps around the room with no regard to damage done to anything in their path.

also anyone that uses Dremel tools needs to watch for used model 395 and buy em up. as thats the last of the tough Dremels that fit most accessories over the years. also I have like a dozen of the Dremel tool adapter rings/collars that must be used when mounting some models into accessories and since Dremel has discontinued all old parts I plan to make stl files of those plastic rings. dont know if I remember what size is for what but if ya got the whole set then your good.

n2ri wrote:

oh what I use is a Dremel with a homemade bit made from a piece of wire from a motorcycle hand brake cable about 2 inches long with a point ground on tip. when it spins at over 20,000RPMs it kind of melts away the plastic. allowing me to carve out the inside of an 1/8" sheet through the edge so I can cut bits of the sheet into size of object like the N scale fish aquarium and work from bottom and back of it to make fish and coral etc then paint them from inside cared holes with a single hair of fine paint brush then paint background land some of bottom leaving a few clear spots like on back side of coral etc for an white LED or fiber optic to illuminate it from underside or top like most aquariums and it can sit in window view of an N scale structure and look real in dim lighting of train room. same for other items just leave a side that is not exposed, unpainted to for edge lighting. one guy even used this technique to make an operating train layout inside an N scale hobby shop window.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZCmS7Cfsqds

also lit for night time. David K Smith made it but most sites and other videos showing more info are now gone for some reason. it was done over 10 years ago

That's crazy! Do you have a picture of the bit you used? I'm not sure I follow.
