No more buying stencils, letters or little plastic accents like snowflakes, hearts and shamrocks. You could make buttons and maybe even zippers with a 3d printer.

I'm more surprised that it's Michaels and not Hobby Lobby. HL seems to have a slightly broader range of products so you'd think they'd get on the 3d bandwagon before Michaels did.

Anyway, it would be nice to have a place or two I could just go buy filament instead of having to e-bay or mail order it.

Brands and models are varied of course.  The only one I have seen that actually has printers and filament  in the store is Micro Center. I am sure this varies with store location .

Yeah, Michaels seems like an odd pick if you ask me. I always thought Home Depot was a slightly better match. I wouldn't count on retailers being super adventurous with their filament picks for now.

From what I read, they will be displaying Da Vinci.
BB, Staples, and a few other chains have at least sold filament if not the occasional printer on their sites since the spring. Next year, Michaels will begin carrying the Up

And that is the biggest rip. Last I checked, SD sells the 4 for $600.
