]]> Tue, 07 Oct 2014 22:22:13 +0000 https://www.soliforum.com/post/67942/#p67942 <![CDATA[Re: Where can I buy the heat sink that SD uses on their extruder motors?]]> https://www.soliforum.com/post/67904/#p67904 Ya, I figure I should have some type of heat sync and/or fan on the motors of the mini kossel that I am building.  I've got it all put together, just waiting for the RAMPS board to come in but if it takes longer I might borrow the RUMBA off my SD2.  It will have the FSRs for auto bed leveling.  I think it will be a pretty good printer when its done.  I actually canceled my SD Press order when I saw the video of the autoleveling.  The probe design just looked kinda flimsy and I decided I would just build a delta printer with FSRs.  I don't really care to ever own a printer without auto bed leveling again.  If it works really well, my SD2 will probably be sold for parts.

Ward, thanks for the dimensions.  Wompus, my motors on the kossel build don't have bolt holes in the back so I will need to secure it to the motor with adhesive, which the ones I linked from Aliexpress have.

The SD heatsink has the holes ready to be mounted to a motor so the $9 might be worth it if it'll save you some time later on.

Although if you're building you're own printer, you probably not worried about a little modification work wink

But with bigger than 10cm on the height.  At least, I thought the SD uses a bigger one, but I might be wrong.  I'm not in front of my printer to measure it.  I will probably just go with the above and have extras.

They sell the extruder heatsinks in the solidoodle store. It doesn't look like they've posted for sale the heatsinks that are being used on the x-motor though for the new models.

Does anyone have a source?

What adhesive should I be using to secure it if the motors I am using do not have bolt holes on the bottom?
