Just realized today -- there are some very nice benefits to owning a filastruder that I hadnt thought of.

got done battling with an online seller because the ABS filament i had purchased from them was Wavy, had a 0.3mm swell in the diameter, was moist (oven didnt help), and wouldnt stick to a bed or even itself. all it ever did was ball up and burn on my nozzle.

made a pile of Yellow filament last night and it hit me:

I am saving SO MUCH TIME by using my filastruder!

before, it was buying a roll of filament, getting calipers, measuring the first 10 Meters of so of filament to get a diameter to change in my slicer, then test cube, then change bed height, then test cube, change the bed temperature, change nozzle temp, change flow, change speeds, change bridging...

Now? I throw some color into my hopper, and i have Three settings on my slicer profile: MG94 abs, GP-35 ABS, and PLA. thats it. i get Consistent results because the base material, and the handling is all the same. the only difference is the color.

admittedly some colors have small quirks, but unless im printing high accuracy, they are well within the margin of error on printed parts.

so there you have it:
you can save a few meters of filament per roll, and a few hours of your life, and frustration, by getting the consistent results of filastruder filament with a range of colorant.
