Well it finally happened... I have been running my printer for 2
months with no real issues... and now that I have a printing job
that NEEDS to mail tomorrow to make a deadline, it decided to flop on me...

I am having all kinds of issues with the X-axis... so a description and what
I have tried....

Description:

Earlier tonight I was printing the last 4 parts of a major project I need to ship...
and the X-axis started acting up... buzzing and sounding like it was bound up... not moving correctly.

Troubleshooting

1. I tried switching the X and y axis plugs to try and manually move the axis to see if it
was just the wiring/motor vs an issue with the board. With the Y plugged into X it seemed
to work ok....

So.... I assumed wiring or the motor... after checking for continuity... I found that I had it on red/blue
but nothing on black/green.... So I started at the motor looking at the wires and found that it was broken
completely VERY near the motor, so I attempted to try and resolder and repair it....

After plugging it back in... same issue....

I know that the motor is going to need replacing... that break (even if I can fix it) is going to be
trouble later on....

But I went back and tried Y on the X axis... and it acts like the grinding crap too now...
put it back on the Y and it acts fine... could I have in all my printing and troubleshooting
have screwed my board or something????

Ugh... brain is toast... help me out...

Who is recommended for stepper motors for SD3 beside SD?

Let me know so I can order that and do some more trouble shooting....

And it wasn't a belt issue... those were just fine... and it did not seem to be a rod issue
as the carriage slid fine when motor was disabled...

I know this is something easy... but I can't figure it out....

Matt
