What version of software and firmware are you running. This looks to me to be a non-filament based issue. Also verify your belts have the proper tension. My printer was missing the screw on the X-Axis that locks it into place when I got it, which was causing some issues like this only not nearly as severe.

What temperatures are you using? So far I've had better luck running non-XYZ filament with a higher temperature than the stock cartridge calls for. I think the default is 210, Currently I'm running at 230C with the heated bed at 115 with kapton to prevent warping.

Also on a side note, check to make sure your belts are tight, and that you do not have any cracked pulleys!

I'm using a resetter and had the same problem, see the topic 'filament-coming-out-blotchy' still on the front page of the forum for XYZ Printing DaVinci

I got it to work for a while, then had to disassemble my extruder head to clean it (Not sure if the need to clean was related or if it was my homemade filament)

hey guys,

I changed filament today with a cartridge resetter.... I am now using boots industries top notch filament, which is 1.75mm white abs. when I made a test print, the print came out very stringy, barely infilled, and separated from each layer, making it almost stretchy. does anyone know what settings I would have to change in slic3r to make this new filament work like the xyzprinting cartridge work, which was a lot better?

heres some pics:

First picture shows new filament on the left, xyz on right.

Thanks
Alex
