I have an SD3. Could you post your slicer settings for that? Also did you have to use and extra fan and duct? If so which would you recommend.

1.) Its tolerance, not tolerence. I only say this because it makes it easier to search when the search term is spelled correctly.
2.) You are referring to layer resolution. This is quite different from tolerance.
3.) All 3D printers can be commanded to perform layer heights less than 0.1mm. Even without considering microstepping, the layer resolution of a Solidoodle is 0.07mm. This number is meaningless as the mechanical backlash and deformation are much larger. Some 3D printers are better at it that others, depending on their mechanical design. Utilimakers get good results from layer heights as low as 20 microns (0.02mm).
4.) Printing at layer heights that low is painfully slow. If you need that level of resolution, look to SLA printers. 0.02mm layer prints take 15 times longer than 0.3mm prints.

is .1mm the tighest tolerence any 3d printer will do? are there others on the market that can lay down layers at .05 or something? I'm just curious about the level of the technology
