You'll pretty much always have a type of seam but you can adjust it to be less noticeable. You have a ways to go before you get close to a best print. I recommend playing with the slicer settings and maybe try kisslicer.

It can take some people a month or more to get a Solidoodle to print that.

Anyway, extrusion rate and retraction seem to be the culprit here. If you did not perform any kind of calibration beforehand, time to adjust the finer points.

It's not a bad print, but I think it could be better if you adjusted your extrusion rate. Not sure how it is done with the DaVinci since I am using a Solidoodle and a delta with RH and Slic3r.

Hey everyone! I'm so excited I just got my first 3D printer. I choose the DaVinci 1.0 like so many others. Any here's my first print. It's all stock/standard hardware/software. I'm using Mac and my printer is on version 1.1.J. For the print I downloaded it from Thingiverse I set the quality at Excellent, the layer height at 0.1mm and the speed on the slowest possible. I've attached a photo of it. Notice the extra bumps and stuff sticking out the side?
