Any error messages for either slicer? It sounds like your 25 Meg gcode file is saying the print is very large or very complicated. In netfabb it says it's only 4,722 triangles. So, perhaps something in your slicer settings is generating extra gcode.

I did see some small lines in the corners using netfabb that look like alignment axis that may be creating extra gcode.

Otherwise, I would say RH is either running out of buffer memory or you need to wait awhile for it to load such a large file. I will try slicing your file tonight and see what size gcode I get.

Thanks for the response ggunners. If you use KISSlicer to create the gcode, how do you send the gcode to the printer? I tried opening the ouput from it with Repetier-Host and it locks up like it did with Slic3r's output.

When I have issues slicing in RH, I use KISSlicer instead. You might also try the latest RH, if you are using an older version.

I have an stl file that Repetier Host will load and display. When I click on the slic3r option to slice it, it does slice it and I can see the gcode file that it creates (it is a 24 megabyte file). After running slicer, the program locks up.

I tried loading the gcode file that it created and after two hours, it is still showing as non-responsive.

I am running Windows 7 on this machine and it has 12GB of memory. It is a quad core processor and Repetier Host has been running one of the cores at 100% for the last 2 hours.

Does anyone have any ideas on how I might get this working?

I have attached the stl file in case anyone needs to see it.
