Thanks wadjr, I'll spend some time to get it to centre. But should is it best to lift the shaft up a little to when mounting the pillow block, or is just removing all of the belt tension from the shaft the best thing to do?

If anything you are going to want to be closer to the motor or center. The drive belt is what causes the rod to deflect so you want to offset that force. I run two pillow blocks one on each side about an inch in.

Hello,

I finally received my bearing and I printed off the pillow block assembly. I plan on mounting the pillow block on the right hand side in a position that mirrors where the y-axis stepper motor connects to the y shaft.
When I mount the pillow block should I just remove all belt tension and drill the holes to mount it, or should I lift the shaft up a little bit to help offset the the strain the y-axis drive belt puts on the shaft?

Many Thanks.
