Amazing work!! Though I don't see too many used Solidoodles on eBay.. And there are certainly a lot of Cubify people unloading theirs (guess mine depreciated about 60%--SMH).

I see a SD2 on eBay right now, still at $100 :')

I think in the year 2020, 3d printers will be as commonplace as espresso machines and should be costing no more than $400--probably typically closer to $250. See what happens when one of the legit tech company takes the plunge.

Very cool. It looks like the prices of 3d printers might be converging to some minimum base price, and that the SD2 is benefitting from the fact that it has so low of a price to begin with. I wonder if the trend lines were extended, would we see that all printers would be worth about, say, $400 in parts by 2020?

I thought it would be cool to show how fast our 3D Printers are depreciating. I compared each printer's brand new price, with their average used sale price on Ebay today. From this it looks like Solidoodle is holding it's value pretty well. Keep in mind these numbers are approximated.
Check out more stuff like this at my blog http://3dprintertips.blogspot.com/
I also thought it would be cool to compare the average 3D printer depreciation with that of the average automobile, since everybody is always groaning about auto depreciation.
