			<description><![CDATA[<p>What you describe is called a &quot;raft.&quot;</p><p>It&#039;s necessary for printing on an unheated bed. It should not be needed for a heated bed.</p><br /><p>I would recommend using Slic3r instead of skeinforge. I would also recommend reading through everything on <a href="http://solidoodletips.wordpress.com/">http://solidoodletips.wordpress.com/</a> if you are comfortable doing so. </p><br /><p>I&#039;m not sure if Skeinforge has a &quot;brim&quot; because I do not use skeinforge. A brim is a layer around your part that helps stick your print to the bottom.</p><br /><p>If you are having success with heating the bed, then you might not need a brim.
