It uses a linear pattern that tends to stick more to the print than the bed. It's best to avoid using the raft when possible unless you are printing something with very little touching the bed. To get it off I suggest sanding down the bottom of the print, otherwise you can be there for hours picking them off with your fingers. If you make the switch to repetier, you can use a rectilinear pattern and make the raft as thick as you want, which would make it easier to peel off
