They're not quick though!  It has been printing now for 24hrs solid and it still has 2hrs to go (150mm tall statue of liberty with the new 0.1mm profile, by comparison it took about 4-5hrs on the base profile that came with Pronterface in the original Solidoodle software download) so more than 6x slower to print the same thing!  I just noticed the default setting for the 'Speed Multiply (Feed Rate) was set to 46%, is this on purpose?  I moved it to 100% and now it's printing faster with no noticeable effects yet...?

I assume the Feedrate and Flowrate 'speed multiplier' settings are normally supposed to be at 100%?

when i print with the new 0.1 mm profile, the printer prints the 2 first layers.
but when it prints the third layer it moves the z axis to much.

i have followed the pdf file instructions.

anyone else having this problem.
any idea what i am doing wrong ?

I am having the same problem.  Installed latest ver of Repetier (0.82 with slic3r 0.9.7) and followed the guide.  Win7 x64.  Comes out with .1mm layers spaced .3mm apart after the 3rd layer by the looks of it...?  My firmware is: mlaws-solidoodle2-marlin-6dc60f1

Update:
It does the same thing with the 0.3mm profile, first 2x layers are OK, 3rd and above are too high and dont stick to previous layer properly.  Is there a Z scale/steps/setting somewhere that we might have wrong?

Further Update:
Fixed it, you need to do the 'optional' last part to save the configs in Slic3r so they show in Repetier, then it seems to work.  Just specifying the correct ini file in the configuration path window doesn't work, it uses the default layer height of .4mm after layer 2 or 3.

Ah, ok, I guess it was a Solidoodle 2 then.  Bed is 6"x6" (150x150).  I just assumed since they were talking about new design shipping, and solidoodle 3 in the discussion, I assumed this is what I got.  Assumptions get me everytime.

What impact does version 2 versus 3 this have on my items a-c, 1-4?

nothing.. version3 is just a version 2 with a larger bed aka 8x8x8" instead of 6x6x6"

a) I assume I don't need to do any firmware stuff with solidoodle 3 shipped Nov.
b) Can I just import the 0.1 config ini file into Slic3r and generate gcode?
c) I run the gcode in the same Pronterface as before; except now gcode produced by Slic3r.

I assumed this, and ran some prints.  Some issues:
1) In general, I had a harder time with the parts coming off the base.
2) Tip crossing profile made mess on edges
3) Too much material laid down when using any solid infill at any ratio, also made edge messiness
4) More warpage on the base than skeinforge after cool

Can anyone confirm my assumptions from a-c?
Anyone have good settings with Solidoodle3 (ABS) I should try to address 1-4?
Do I need cooling fan or similar to accomplish 0.1 heights?

It worked great for overall layers but for my thin walled caps with very small holes- it just splooged them up and the walls are warped.  I suspect a fan would clear this up.

I too am having the same problem. Using the new profile set exactly as is show in the instructions, it prints the first 2 or 3 layers perfectly. Then it drops the bed down to much and starts printing strands in mid air.  Please Help.

What OS/repetier-host version are you 2 using?

My issue is that repetier-host-mac .51 doesnt seem to respect my first layer speed setting of 30mm/s.
