Yeah, I didn't do that. My bad.

This time around I bought 4 motors, including 2 with built in lead screws, 2 anti-backlash nuts, smooth rods and some PTFE tubing. All that added up to $128, but shipping was $50.

Next time I order something I'll ask for alternative shipping methods, like EMS. I have had EMS stuff shipped to California in less than 5 days.

I have ordered from robotdigg several times. Here is my take on it:

You add things to your cart and press 'buy'. Then you are greeted with a message telling you that your order will be calculated and you will receive a message shortly with paypal paying instructions. Its not the most satisfying way to feel good about your purchase. So I get an email with paypal instructions. You manually go through your paypal acount to pay him. The first time I did this, it was a $25 purchase so I took the risk. I will say I have received 3 shipments from him with no worries since then. He is trustworthy.

Prices: Cheapest for getting what you expect: Chinese quality. Its cheaper than getting each item individually on Ebay and receiving the same thing. The bearings are like any bearing not name brand: order twice the amount you need and test each one. And do not expect 5 years out of them either. Remember, your paying $0.60 for a bearing that normally costs $28.00 from Boca or SKF. Also, I have have had the heater cartridges from two hotends (from other people) go bad almost immediately. The heater cartridges from RD work great. Hundreds of hours and no failures.

Shipping: His prices are expensive, because he ships domestic. Guess what, anyone shipping domestic from China is expensive. Remember how payment occurs? He emails you the subtotal and shipping. I always email him back and have him quote me shipping China Post. And magically the shipping goes from $30 to $5. Yes, theres a difference of 1 week vs 4 weeks. But I already expect that from China. Its your choice.

Summary: I order from RobotDigg regularly. I consider the seller trustworthy. I am also an informed buyer and I know what it is I am buying. I have not purchased any electronic boards from him but I would expect the quality to be the same as Geeetech. But I have purchased alot of pulleys and belts, bearings and drive gears, and I plan to purchase a hotend the next time around.

I've made two orders. One ~$50, another $150.

I found they were very useful in communications before the order, both competent clear and quick (with a tiny bit of optimist ism to this. I'm saying this in context of "when ordering from a clearly mainland seller") and a little bit less useful in responses after the order. This may have been the timing of the order [january], but it didn't reflect the actual situation in the wharehouse. I was emailing them asking me to tell me when they ship, because it felt weird how little communication there was after placing the order, but a day or so after this they responded "yes! Your order has been packed and shipped" I received it [so it had clearly already been quickly packed and shipped, quicker than I expected.]

Shipping is a killer. I also made a very lightweight order once that they shipped by non-fedex by special request, but I had to strip everything metal from my order basically because the limit was quite low (I think 500g maybe.) But to be honest fedex is the best carrier to be buying straight from china. That is getting to you quickly, non of my usual "forget about the order by the time the package arrives. Puzzled about what I'm picking up or signing for."
