What ever you decide to go with you might consider picking up a used one out of the buy/sell/trade section.  There was an SD2 for $350 on there a day or two ago.  That's a good deal and I think it had an upgraded hot end (E3D).  If you think you won't have to tweak or mod your printer than you might want to do some more research.  Hacks and Mods can be very rewarding and fun to do.  For the price range you seem to want to be in mods are essential.
