You are correct. If you still have kapton on the bed, spray extra or extreme hold hairspray on the kapton (shield all parts and electronics while spraying), then slap the glass on yours platform. This will bond the two pieces together; but not TOO bonded, so do not worry, it is not permanent.
You can use clips whether or not you have pulled the kapton on the bed. But this can be a slippery slope if you plan on using every millimeter of your build platform.

Please remember that if you use (in your case) an 8x8 sheet of glass or mirror, that you will have to adjust your Z tab before printing.

Thank you for your answer. It's a solidoodle 4, as mentioned in the title. Unfortunately I'm supporting it from 8000 miles away, and they're not willing to delve into the calibration themselves, so I'll have to sort them out at a later point. I remember seeing somewhere that you clip the glass to the bed, correct?

Welcome to the forum,
to answer your questions YES You will need to calibrate most everything if you expect quality prints. The issues you are having are common and have simple fixes. You should start at the WIKI http://www.soliwiki.com/#Calibrations
The sticking issues you are having are also very common and can simply be fixed with a piece of glass, Hairspray and proper Z-height calibration. Start by having a search most of these things are STICKY's so they are easy to find. For the most part an SD4 is a pretty version of an SD3 so and an SD2 just has a smaller bed. Most threads on here will apply to all models and you didn't mention what one you have.

Hi there,

We got our Solidoodle last week and have been playing with it since. It's had it's fair share of issues, the main being that on larger models it likes to stretch it, or occasionally tip it over. Our solution to that was to print things in parts. Another problem we came across today is also a slightly warped shape. Attached is a photo showing this on a perfect circle.

Our printer came prebuilt, so we don't know much about the insides to it. Is there anything we need to calibrate to fix this, software or hardware wise?

Thank you very much in advance!
