Edit: I explicitly said not to connect that power supply, and you did it anyway, even though it outputs 160% of the rated voltage.

If there's no short, you need a new power supply. If Solidoodle refuses to supply one, find one that is 12v and at least 15a.

The SD supplied power unit still produces a blinking light on mobo and nothing else. If I connect the Dell power supply I mentioned above I get LED's, can move servos, etc but if I power on bed, extra fan, and hot end at same time the whole unit dies.

I'm betting a wire is shorted somewhere - disconnect the hot end at the main board and try powering up again.

The brand is kinda bobo but it should hold up since you're only using 1/2 of the rated current.

You can chop the connector off your old supply, just get polarity right.

Can anyone suggest a replacement power supply or tell me if the power supply in the Soli Wiki power supply upgrade tutorial is compatible with the SD3? I realize I will have to add a connector cord with a barrel end connector.

The machine became completely unresponsive and the LED on the back of the motherboard was blinking.

After disconnecting and then reconnecting the power and USB, the light became solid but the machine was still unresponsive and the LEDs in the front of the case were blinking.

After closer examination I noticed that the light on the power supply was also blinking irregularly and I disconnected it while leaving the USB connected.

At this point I was able to connect via Repetier.

I do not have a replacement power supply that is rated the same as the 12v power supply my SD3 came with however I do have several other power supplies with matching connections.

Can I safely connect a laptop power supply with the following specifications:

Input: 100-240v 1.5A 50/60Hz
Output: 19v 3.16A
