Still no luck with Slic3r going lower than .45
However, after grabbing a $2 pack of crimp connectors from Home Depot, all connections are solid.
I did not troubleshoot, so I am uncertain whether or not it was the connection since I re-taped the thermistor and heating block while I was at it.

If I can figure a solution to this, I will post it to help others in the future.

Unfortunately no the same problem. I was able to get .45 to stick...so I guess it's better than nothing for now.
However, now I keep getting M999 codes left and right. I heat bed and extruder, then the nanosecond I click run job, it tells me M999 and hit Min Temp. I am certain it is due to a loose connection, but has anyone else had this?
Only thing I swapped was the thermistor, and it is obviously not the problem.

I don't know if this is your problem or not. I have had slic3r not want to change on many settings if it is just by one number. So in your case it says .5 try changing it to .2 (then save) go back and change to .4 and see if it will save. I seem to have this problem on number of perimeters all the time.
You will also want to make sure that in print settings under advanced your extrusion widths are appropriately changed as well.
Then the obvious of make sure you are switching to that saved profile before you slice.
You wont hurt anything with .5 but you'll have a hard time calibrating.

I am currently using a .4 nozzle and Slic3r will not allow me to change this. Right now, it says .5 and anytime I try to save then slice, it bugs out and I have to set it back to .5
Any ideas on what I'm missing?
Not a good idea to run .5 on a .4 nozzle for a long time, correct?
