If you want decent quality the expensive machines are very costly to run so you're basically being charged by the minute for machine time... and more layers is more time.

Just got a quote from a local service (Australia) and with 7.5 cm sides it costs $1100AUD !! wtf...

shape ways cost 100$ USD = ~100AUD
There is a big difference in layer quality, 16um vs 120um, but 1000$ ?? really?

Is there any affordable services out there with maybe 32um layers ?

Hi,

I'm looking to print a fairly geometric model, A level 4 Menger sponge.

I was wondering if I can get some recommendations for a printing service with a fine layer depth, Shapeways is about 0.12 mm which is quite coarse nowadays.

I want the cube to have 10cm sides if not too expensive. Volume of material is 30% of a cube.
