Most 3d printer can manage a few hundred of print time without any big maintenance of the printer. Mostly what you need to change is the fan for few dollars, change the extruders maybe after 600 hours (maybe around 80 dollars) and the heat bed.

For regular maintenance I recommend that you, after each print, clean the print tray so it becomes scraped clear of any residual material. Once the print tray is clean, you can use some rubbing alcohol with paper and clean it.

Voila and there u have it a machine that hold x year longer than normal >)

The main thing would be just like the SD printers, level the bed and set the z height(you can do this with the bed leveling screws) Since the electronics are sanguinololu the adjustments are the same as SD printers for everything else like extrusion steps and x, Y, and Z axis steps

One other thing I was going through the assembly manual for the eventorbot --> http://eventorbot.com/files/Eventorbot% … 0guide.zip and I see it has a geared stepper for the extruder.. so my post about the moire being worse for 3mm while technically true wouldn't be as bad as I first indicated but would still be 3 times worse than 1.75mm filament.

One last question: How would I calibrate the printer? I can't seem to find instructions for calibrating the Eventorbot.... The guy I bought it from said it would need to be recalibrated as it may have shifted around a bit during shipping.

One of the problems with using 3mm filament on a 1.75 system is you will get more 'moire' effect because for every step of the extruder stepper you will get almost three times as much filament coming out of the nozzle.

Alright, so I got my printer last Friday and haven't been able to mess with it until last night. However, there is a problem, because the guy who sold it to me had the 1.75mm filament insert installed and I do not know how to change it. He told me to try to take off the cable from on top of the hot end and one of the white tubes that came in the package should be a 3mm insert.

Last night, I tried taking off the cord, but it's very difficult and when I looked at the hot end itself, it seemed like it was popping out; the threads were now visible. I want to fix it, but don't know how, and I definitely don't want to do anything further to it as I'm scared I might break it.

Can anyone please enlighten me on this subject? I would appreciate it greatly! I've included pictures in order to help explain the situation.

Thank you!

So I recently bought a 3D printer. The Eventorbot 1.2 to be exact. It's all so confusing yet also exciting! I'm wondering a lot of things. For starters, what should I be looking for when it comes to the 3D printing software? Also, What should be some key things in printing and/or maintaining the printer?
