Yeah, it was a bit strange. I left the thing to cool off, and then forgot about it for >24hrs. It would have slowly cooled from 100C to room temp and then sat for hours. When I attempted to remove it (still room temp), it was stuck so well that in my levering the stuff off (part was destroyed) a chip came out of the glass. Could barely get a purchase on the brim in places.

In retrospect, I probably should have been more patient, let it soak in water to get the hairspray off, then tried acetone to weaken the ABS.

Using Tresemme freeze hold as above. Quite different to the red can...

That is some serious stickage.  Maybe could have run the plate under cold water.  You don't want to have to go through that again.

• Nice thick layer onto gently abraded glass

• Cooked for a while on the heated bed

• Brief spray between prints to top up where the outline was

• Bed needs to cool a bit before the print comes off

• Still using 3mm brim

Haven't done anything phenomenally long yet, but it's much easier than it was. Original spray was coming away with the prints, which was pretty useless.
If you're struggling with spray, change brand, look for different ingredients on the list. "[insert long organic chemistry formal name here]-copolymer" is a good sign.

@ggunners and knowack - The purple elmer's glue stick worked great for me as well. I used a little too much the first time and had a heck of a time getting the parts off. But it's worked wonders and it's cheap too. Thanks again for this tip.

I print on glass and once it is removed from the bed, it cools in about 2 minutes and the parts pop right off. You can hear the plastic shrink and come loose. Having 2 sheets of glass, lets you keep printing without letting everything cool down.

Rave 4x mega has all the good sticking stuff. acrylates copolymer, vinyl neodecanote copolymer, and polyurethane 14.

For anyone having problems in the future who may check this thread, what did you switch to?

I could have sworn I'd replied to this...  I switched to Finesse Self Adjusting Firm Hold hairspray.  Works like a charm.  I changed my first layer width back to 100%, and it still sticks to the hairspray, so that must be what it was.  I gave the glass plate a couple of good initial sprays, and now just a light spray every once and awhile to refresh things.
