Fairly new to 3d printing (only got my first printer -SD4- a month ago) but I have abandoned SLIC3R for this reason. Some models it prints fine - others it adds weird geometries not present in the STL. Seems like it may have some bugs in it's STL interpretation. In all cases, Skeinforge was able to print the object properly so I'm sticking with it although there are some aspects of it I don't like (or haven't figure out how to tune properly). If anyone debugging this wants another example, the following STL adds a weird ledge at the hook/sphere interface when sliced with SLICER laying flat on the bed with supports.

www.thingiverse.com/thing:361948

I have encountered this in the past but its getting much more frequent.... Slic3r throws out errors when trying to slice things at .1mm , but the very same object will slice just fine at .2 or .3. sometimes it can be sidestepped by using slic3r as a standalone app, but other time it persists. ive also downloaded netfab studio to "fix" the stl but it still dosent slice at .1

here is the error i get in rhost:

16:52:25.160 : <Slic3r> Error in function from_SV_check at src\Polygon.cpp:134: Not a valid Slic3r::Polygon object
16:52:25.160 : <Slic3r>      at C:/PROGRA~1/Repetier-Host/SLIC3R~1.0RC/lib/std/Slic3r/Print/Object.pm line 453
16:52:25.160 : <Slic3r>     Slic3r::Print::Object::clip_fill_surfaces('Slic3r::Print::Object=HASH(0x3ed6cb8)') called at C:/PROGRA~1/Repetier-Host/SLIC3R~1.0RC/lib/std/Slic3r/Print.pm line 387
16:52:25.160 : <Slic3r>     Slic3r::Print::export_gcode('Slic3r::Print=HASH(0x3ed95b0)', 'output_file', 'C:\Users\Molecular Concept\AppData\Local\RepetierHost\composi...', 'status_cb', 'CODE(0x2ccc2f0)') called at C:/PROGRA~1/Repetier-Host/SLIC3R~1.0RC/lib/std/cavaexecscript/slic3r.pl line 144
16:52:25.160 : <Slic3r>     require cavaexecscript/slic3r.pl called at <Packaged Modules>/Application::Loader line 1469
16:52:25.160 : <Slic3r>     Cava::Pack::Code::_run_packaged_script('cavaexecscript/slic3r.pl') called at <Packaged Modules>/Application::Loader line 1496
16:52:25.160 : <Slic3r>     Cava::Pack::Code::_run_doscript() called at <Packaged Modules>/Application::Loader line 1558

any one know why this is ?
