As a short follow up to this post I will tell you this....

I had to replace the wiring completely from the thermistor to the board and ditched all the plugs and nonsense.
After correcting that issue, I had nearly the identical issue with the extruder itself... so I replaced the wiring in
the same fashion. I ditched Repetier Host and switched to Simplify3D for slicing. I got VERY tired of fiddling constantly
with the settings in RH trying to chase good prints... it reminded me of the old RepG for the Makerbot which drove me crazy.

As I type this, the machine is back up and running smoothly and producing nice parts again...

Customer service did send me a thermistor... but I had already purchased 2 from eBay... so now I have spares.

and the experience will help me next time I have that same issue....

Cujo

Cujo3131, try this:

1) Check the two wires with small Teflon tube at the end of thermistor head are not touched together,
or use a thin Kapton tape to isolate them.
2) Tape the thermistor' head directly to a flat surface of brass nozzle tightly, but don't let any wire
to be bare and touch alum. heating block or brass nozzle.
3) Check related connections.
4) Set extruder temp. 210 C, don't set 215c, etc.
Then you can print a small part, and go on.
