Apparently I can't read... not that unusual.... sorry. Anyway, you want to paint the solidoodle not your parts.

In that case... you need to strip all contaiminants from the metal, greases, fingerprints, etc... you primer is nice but not neccesary if you use good metal paint.. use something designed for appliances such as washing machines and you'll have no problems... they should have matte as they do around these parts, but if they dont, then just use quality matte paint and make sure its really really clean. Given you just want black, Rust-oleum Matte Black (or local equivalent) ( http://www.rustoleum.com.au/index.php/p … ce-aerosol ) will work fine even probably with grease on there..

Google is still your friend. Solidoodle is just sheet metal.

I have a bunch of parts for upgrades. I think im just going to tear it all down and do everything at once. While i have my Solidoodle gutted I was thinking I want to paint it. mostlikely black. It just goes better with the rest of my electronics. What kind of paint would be best? I dont really want a glossy black, more of a smooth flat black. Should I use a primer? I havent really ever done any painting before lol
