Also, just drawing with a lighter-handed stroke (adjust trimpot), as someone already noted, goes a long way too.

You definitely don't need to change the stepper *motor* though.

I am confused...
For the very small difference in price why wouldn't you just order an E3D from filastruder.  Shipping is fast and reliable and the service is great.

I only ordered the nozzle and tube ($15).  The E3D was much more since it is the whole assembly. 

I still may get it but I also got a PI and arduino for Christmas so am struggling with which hobby to invest in. I want it all!
