Printer not printing right?

Hi guys, just got my unit a week ago and finally had some time to get things started.
The printer came broken and the guys at solidoodle were kind enough to send me the X-axis apparatus (minus the print head). I installed it and turned the machine on. It vibrated for a while at initiation and then went on standby.
I went through all the steps as per the website and finally was ready to print.
On print this is what happens. (not sure how to attach youtube videos on this forum)

I am not sure if this vibration is normal when it goes to the x-y home
The print bed seems to be at the right temperature but the plastic will not adhere
The printer just lays the plastic in squiggles instead of a straight cable

Apart from that, it's all just great! (a little optimism here)
I have attached my printer settings as well and I am just trying to print the test stl file that comes with Pronterface.
Any help would be great and apologies if I posted in the wrong forum.
