umm when did SD start inserting the thermistor in the heat block? My year old SD3, it's taped to the nozzle.

They use PTFE sleeves
You can also use Kapton tape like on the E3D

Alright, thanks a ton! Would you also happen to know what the plastic-y covering of the thermistor's wires was, exactly?
