I've purchased a painting knife....

http://goo.gl/7Jsm9

You can get them from most art supply stores. They are very thin and bendy but with blunt edges. I'm hoping it will be ideal for getting underneath the print without harming the kapton, but I'll let you know.

For the record,

Here in the shop we use putty knives. We even sharpen them with a grinder. While this can be a little dangerous on the Kapton, it ensures that you will be removing the print. Generally, you will have better luck when temperatures are allowed to go down. Hot prints tend to stick.

like any tool, its how its used .. a good quality, looked after metal one should not be capable if scratching kapton so long as you don't jam the corner into it.
if it has the tiniest dent, totally different matter.
I guess you could check same way as with a straight razor, run the back of your thumnail across it.

It could, is it rigid enough though, thats the question... it could be too flexible and just bend when you try to push it under your print.

Had a thought, would PVC cards (The ones used for credit cards) work well for scraping a print off the bed?

They can be had pretty cheap: http://www.ebay.com/itm/100-PVC-BLANK-W … 4ab9cebe58

Only bad thing is that you don't want to burn PVC, as it will give off very toxic chlorine fumes.
