I currently have a Macbook from work that I do 95% of everything on, but I was thinking that when I'm done building my 3D printer I'd like to keep the software separate from my work stuff. My plan is to include an SD port in the 3D printer so I don't have to leave it attached to my laptop. Is it possible to keep all of the software etc on an external hard drive? Or is there an inexpensive PC that would work well for designing 3D print projects?

Thanks!!!
